The Doll Face Persian is considered to be a healthier option for this reason. If you want a Persian cat’s temperament without health problems, this is the breed you want.

This breed is easy to tell apart from other Persian varieties due to their long noses. However, they still have slightly smaller snouts than other cat breeds.

Doll Face Persian Kittens – Before You Welcome One Into Your Family …

Persian cats are decently playful, but this trait tends to wear off as they get older. They will not need much playtime in their later years, though we recommend play sessions when they are younger. Otherwise, they may keep you up at night or get into things they shouldn’t.

While all cats are generally smart, the Persian is a slow learner. You need a lot of patience to teach them basic things. Thus, they are a bit harder to teach to use a litterbox and things of that nature. Plan on spending quite a bit of time teaching them easy things.

While these cats are quite a bit healthier than extreme Persian Cats, they aren’t healthier than mixed-breed cats. They are about in the middle as far as overall health goes. They do live shorter than most cats—by quite a bit. However, they still aren’t incredibly unhealthy, and many live healthy lives.

The biggest draw to Doll Face Persian cats is their high levels of affection. They tend to be very attached to their people. They’re “lap cats,” for lack of a better word. If you’re looking for a cat that will cuddle you, this cat is a reliable option.

Temperature & Intelligence of the Doll Face Persian Cat

The main reason that the Persian is so popular is due to its loveable temperament. These cats love their people and would love nothing more than to cuddle all day. They are relaxed and easygoing. They don’t mind strangers and typically love everyone, which makes them perfect companions for many families.

Persians are also typically quiet and can be a bit lazy. In their early years, they can be playful—just like any other kitten. However, they become very docile as they get older. They don’t vocalize much and tend to be quieter.

They are somewhat intelligent, like all cats. However, they are not the smartest cat breed around, and it takes them a bit longer to learn basic stuff. They need a lot of patience. However, they love their people, so they are generally willing to learn. It just takes them a bit to get the hang of it.

Are These Cats Good for Families? 👪

While they are typically affectionate towards everyone, they are not the best with children. They will typically not put up with the rambunctious nature of children and get anxious around loud and fast-moving people—which describes every toddler.

They are an excellent option for families with older children, though. They love to be held and petted and typically have plenty of love to go around. These cats will happily go from bedroom to bedroom, cuddling everyone.

Does This Breed Get Along with Other Pets?

When introduced to other pets as a kitten, these cats are usually affectionate and refined with just about everything. They are not particularly skittish of dogs and can hold their own. However, they may not put up with rambunctious puppies. They tend to like more laid-back companions.

Of course, they are still cats and have some prey drive. They will chase small pets and possibly injure them, so it is essential to keep them separate from rodents and other small pets.

Things to Know When Owning a Doll Face Persian Cat

Food & Diet Requirements

Persian cats do not need any particular diet when compared to other cats. Like other felines, they need to eat mostly protein, which means consuming stuff like chicken, turkey, fish, and other meats.

High-quality cat food for this canine is essential. They do not live very long lives and are not healthy. It is essential to keep them healthy however you can, which includes feeding them high-quality cat food.

Exercise 🐈

As kittens, these cats may be a bit excitable and will need playtime. However, as they grow older, they should not need as much exercise and should calm down substantially.

These cats are typically described as being pretty lazy and laidback. Their exercise needs are relatively low.

Training 🎾

While some cats are trainable, the Persian is not one of those. They are not the smartest and take a bit to figure stuff out. You likely should not count on teaching them anything substantial or advanced. With even fundamental things, you need to have patience.

While these cats love to please, they have a hard time figuring out how to do that.

Grooming ✂️

With their vast, fluffy coat, these cats need quite a bit of grooming. You must start grooming them at a young age to ensure that they get used to regular brushing. These cats usually take well to being brushed and often enjoy it immensely if it is done often. They love cuddling, so turning grooming time into cuddle time is a sure way to win them over.

Alternatively, some pet parents decide to shave their cat’s coat. This is an option, but their hair will grow back in eventually.

Health and Conditions 🏥

These cats are a bit healthier than the extreme Persian breeds, as they do not have such a squished face. However, they are not as healthy as your average, mixed-breed cat.
